In retrospect, hasn't every instance of suspending habeas corpus--Lincoln/Grant, Roosevelt, W Bush--just resulted in more consolidation of power for the "cabal," however we wish to define that group of hidden-hand elites? Has anything good ever come out of the suspension of habeas corpus in America? I think not.
